This new approach aims to achieve the benefits of drainage for all landowners while also reducing the potential impacts.

Approved agricultural water management projects include steps such as flow and erosion controls to prevent impacts to water quality and wildlife habitat.

Infrastructure

An approved project takes steps to protect roads, rural communities and private properties from local to large-scale downstream flooding.

Security

A drainage approval ensures that drainage works can remain operating for the term of the approvals (15-25 years). This protects your investment in land and drainage works.
